Description

Velcro hook and loop fasteners are some of the most well-known and widely used fasteners on the market because of their versatility and ease of use. These fasteners consist of two components: two fabric strips with opposite surfaces. One surface has tiny hooks and the second has many tiny loops. When pressed together, the tiny hooks catch into the tiny loops and the two fabric strips bind together with a strong hold. They can then be easily separated by pulling or peeling the two pieces apart. This will create their characteristic “ripping” sound. The strength of the bond between the hook and loop depends on how well the hook is embedded in the loops and how much surface area contact there is between the two surfaces.
