Can I order a cylinder with a hole cut through the center?
Yes, you can. To do so, simply enter your desired dimension in the “Center Hole” section. There is a limitation of a 0.25″ minimum on the size of the hole that is cut out of the center of the cylinder.
Can I order a semicircle cylinder?
Yes, you can. Simply select “Yes” from the dropdown menu under the “Half Moon” option, and we will cut your cylinder down the center to create two semicircular cylinders.
How are cylinder foam holes produced?
To produce a cylinder foam hole, a three-step process is required. First, the foam is cut into a square in the length of the requested cylinder. The foam square is then moved to a specialized saw where it is cut and shaped into a cylinder by spinning quickly. At this point, the same saw is ready to cut the interior hole by entering the side of the cylinder and moving to the center. The cylinder saw cuts the interior diameter and then exits in the same location as the entrance. As a result, the end product of a cylinder that has a rounded diameter on the outside and a rounded diameter on the inside is produced.
What are foam cylinders used for?
Foam cylinders are commonly used for back bolsters to provide lumbar support and reduce lower back pain. They are also used on the sides of sofas as an armrest foam bolster. In addition to an armrest, one of the more common uses of a cylinder is as a headrest, sitting underneath the neck area of the user. Foam cylinders are also used to support legs by being placed underneath them, removing pressure from the lower extremities. This provides comfort and relief for the user. In addition to each of these applications, cylinders are often used over poles to protect people from injury.

Foam Type Recommendations
There are many different foam types available and it can be difficult to decipher which is appropriate for your application. Each foam has common uses but no foam is all-encompassing. Here is a quick overview of the various foams available:
- Qualux Foam: A grade above High Resilience foam. Premium quality foam that is used in top-end upholstery cushions and mattresses.
- High Resilience Foam: A grade above Lux foam. Excellent quality foam that is used in top-end upholstery cushions and mattresses.
- Soft Foam: Excellent quality very soft foam at an ILD 10. It will provide similar softness to Memory foam but will have the bounce-back of High Resilience foam.
- Lux Foam: A grade above High Density foam. It is a very good quality foam for mattresses and cushions.
- Blue Foam: A Grade above Conventional Foam. Good quality foam with a blue color aesthetic. Good price-to-performance ratio for mattresses and cushions.
- High Density Foam: A grade above Conventional foam. Good price-to-performance ratio for mattresses and cushions.
- Conventional Foam: A grade above Polyurethane foam. Inexpensive medium-quality foam that is recommended for backing cushions or mattress toppers.
- Polyurethane Foam: The cheapest foam we offer. Low-quality foam that is typically reserved for protecting items in storage or during transportation, packaging and shipping, arts and crafts, and other recreational applications.
Outdoor:
- Dry Fast Foam: Often used in outdoor furniture and air and water filters because of its open-cell porous construction.
Premium Specialty:
- Rebond Foam: Resilient and durable foam, making it ideal for carpet padding, motorcycle seats, and other high-usage applications.
- Dunlop Latex Foam: Premium quality Dunlop Latex rubber foam that is used in top-end mattresses and cushions, providing excellent comfort, airflow, and durability.
- Hard Foam: With a 240 ILD and 4.50 density, our Hard foam is engineered for demanding applications that require unparalleled rigidity and stability.
- Gel-Infused Memory Foam: Excellent quality foam that has enhanced cooling properties compared to traditional Memory foam.
- Memory Foam Premium: Excellent quality foam that is often used in foam mattresses because of its pressure relief.

- Charcoal Foam: A grade above Charcoal Light Foam. Often used for packing and shipping, foam insert for cases, acoustical damping, and more.
- Charcoal Light Foam: A cost-effective solution for protecting delicate items such as instruments, technical equipment, guns, computers, and other components.

Foam Certifications
Most of our foam is CertiPUR-US® certified. CertiPUR-US® approved foam is made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. They are Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).

Maximum Foam Dimensions
Foam has a maximum dimension in which it is produced, known as a bun or slabstock. Foam ordered beyond its maximum dimension will be divided to achieve the desired measurement. Based on our current available stock, it may or may not be adhered together before shipment.

I would like samples to see which cylinders work best for use as neck roll pillows. Memory foam I have tried is too firm. My 30 year old favorite has disappeared. Neck surgery makes density very important.

I am looking for qty100 1.25″diax 26.0″ long foam cylinders. I need them in a rigid foam like the pink home insulation stiff and brittle, it should break more easily than it bends. its is for a frangilble prop, we have been using balsa for years but are looking into alternatives.
