What are the uses of a bolster?
Bolsters are used primarily for back cushions on day beds and bay windows, including breakfast nooks. Because the construction tends to be at a 90-degree angle, the bolster has a 90-degree angle on the backside and is slanted on the front side. The bolster provides the correct angle and comfort when leaning back. It is also used for leg support. Having a flat top surface allows the lower leg to lay flat at an elevated height.
