Description
Acoustic Wedge Foam has a linear wedge design to maximize sound reflections and reverberations. Characterized by its wedge-shaped surface, this soundproofing material is designed to increase the surface area for sound absorption and reduce sound waves’ ability to reflect off surfaces.
This type of foam is used primarily for sound absorption and noise control in various environments such as recording studios, home theaters, offices, and any space requiring acoustic treatment.
We offer Acoustic Wedge Foam in custom-cut dimensions for applications requiring precise sound management and aesthetic considerations. Get the tailored fit to ensure the foam fits perfectly and maximize surface coverage.
Key Features:
- Sound Absorption: The foam is designed to absorb mid to high-frequency sound waves, reducing echo, flutter, and reverberation. The wedge pattern increases the surface area, allowing for better sound wave trapping and absorption.
- Material: Charcoal foam contains enhanced absorption properties through microstructural complexity that further traps sound waves.
- Design: The wedge-shaped pattern helps to trap and dissipate sound waves more efficiently than flat surfaces. The varying angles and depths of the wedges disrupt sound wave paths, preventing them from bouncing back into the room.
- Installation: Acoustic wedge foam panels are easy to install and can be mounted on walls, ceilings, and even doors using adhesives or mounting tapes. They are often used in combination with other types of acoustic panels to provide comprehensive soundproofing.
Applications:
- Recording Studios: To create an acoustically controlled environment, reducing background noise and sound reflections to achieve high-quality recordings.
- Home Theaters: To enhance sound clarity and prevent echoes, providing a better auditory experience while watching movies or listening to music.
- Offices: To reduce noise levels in open-plan offices or conference rooms, improving speech intelligibility and overall productivity.
- Gaming Rooms: To create an immersive audio environment by controlling sound reflections and reducing outside noise interference.

Foam meets CertiPUR-US® certification.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do the cone and base heights mean?
Acoustic Wedge Foam is offered in a combined thickness of 2-inch (1″ Cone 1″ Base) and 4-inch (2″ Cone 2″ Base), meaning when the set is combined, a total height of 2 inches or 4 inches will be achieved. Cone and base heights may vary.
What if only a Quantity 1 is needed?
Acoustic Wedge Foam is produced when one solid block of foam is cut in half, creating two pieces of the same length and width. As such, Acoustic Wedge Foam must be ordered at a Quantity 2. However, our team can create a Quantity 1 if required. Here’s how:
- When entering your measurements, divide your width or length in half.
- Add a Quantity 2 to the cart.
- Upon checkout, request in the notes box that our team adheres your lengths or widths (whichever measurements you divided in half) together.
- Our team will permanently adhere the Quantity 2 Egg Crate pieces together in length or width, producing a Quantity 1 in your true desired measurements.

Maximum Foam Dimensions
Foam has a maximum dimension in which it is produced, known as a bun or slabstock. Foam ordered beyond its maximum dimension will be divided to achieve the desired measurement. Based on our current available stock, it may or may not be adhered together before shipment.
The following are the bun sizes of our foam:
- Charcoal Foam – 96″ x 82″
- Charcoal Foam Light – 84″ x 82″
